Inclusive Leadership - is about bringing meaning to belonging but for inclusion to stick it has to be something owned by all of us for all of us.
It must be steered from the top, fueled from the middle and driven from the grassroots.
Diversity isn't inclusion. This requires a cognitive reframe for most as the two are almost always paired together. We help organisations to decouple inclusion from the polarising word diversity.
INCLUSION is an organisation's aspiration to improve the sense of belonging among all its employees. Belonging is about three must-feels:
1- Feeling psychologically safe
2- Feeling connected (which means more than getting along with people) and
3- Feeling that you have a shared future.
People often wonder what's so special about inclusion because they fundamentally misunderstand it. Consequently they don't realise the positive commercial impact of its presence and the corrosive impact that its opposite (exclusion) has on an organisation.
